Welcome to the Mobile Minigames beginner's combat guide; a guide on the best and simplest ways to improve your team and progress further in combat.
When progressing through the various combat related buildings of Mobile Minigames, it’s very easy to get stuck early on if you aren’t sure what you’re doing.
In the early-game, you can easily improve your team in several ways:
- Lineup changes
- Power increases
- Strategic level ups and upgrades
In this guide we will discuss several easy beginner methods of improving your team so that you can progress further throughout the early-game combat stages of Mobile Minigames.
In most cases, you’ll find yourself using the smart button to determine your team lineup and placement of heroes.
However, oftentimes you can improve your team much more if you set the hero placement manually.
Sometimes when you click smart, the hero placed in the first slot will be less-than optimal.
For example, having a hero from one of these classes in the very first position is often a bad idea:
- Mage
- Rogue
- Priest
- Hunter
All of these classes have a considerably smaller health pool than a warrior. They are mainly used to deal tons of damage, lock up enemy heroes with crowd control, and heal allies.
If a hero from one of these classes is placed in the very first position in the front line, it will likely die before actually achieving its intended purpose.
This is why you almost always want to place a Warrior in the very first front line position.
A Warrior is meant to take damage for allies and buy time so that ally heroes can be used for their intended purposes. If you have a decently powerful Warrior, this is the best thing that you can use it for.
Additionally, you can give the Warrior the following passive abilities by modifying its ability-set in the Spellbook:
This is a great tanky Warrior ability-set since it will give the Warrior extremely high armor potential.
With this much armor and a Priest (or multiple) in the back-line with healing abilities, your Warrior will be able to withstand a ton of damage and prevent allies from being killed early on.
Leveling up your heroes in the Level Up building and upgrading them in the Upgrade building is a pretty simple way to improve your heroes. In fact, it's the most common, and easiest way to improve your heroes.
Most people usually don't think twice about this process. They simply go into the Level Up building and the Upgrade building and improve their heroes whenever possible.
What most players don't realize is that it’s extremely important to always make sure that the levels and stars of a hero match up.
The main reason for this is because the power bonus of the levels is multiplicative. A level 8 would have a much greater effect when applied to an 8-star hero than it would on a 6-star hero.
Let’s imagine we have two different heroes:
- 8-star level 5 hero
- 5-star level 8 hero
Having these two heroes with mismatching levels and stars is extremely inefficient. It would be much better if the 8-star hero was level 8, instead of the 5-star hero.
To make your 8-star hero level 8 instead of your 5-star hero, you need to do the following:
- Go into the Upgrade building.
- Upgrade a low level 5-star hero and sacrifice your 5-star level 8 hero in the upgrade. Once the upgrade is finished, you will have all streamer dust required to get a hero to level 8.
- Go into the Level Up building.
- Level-up your 8-star hero to level 8. You now have an 8-star level 8 hero.
By following these steps and ensuring that the levels and stars of heroes are matching up, you will be improving your team like crazy. As a result, you’ll find yourself progressing much further in combat.
This is an extremely useful yet simple tip to keep in mind as you upgrade and Level-up your different heroes.
Scattered throughout Mobile Minigames are various skins that apply buffs to your heroes. Basically, any streamer and content creator with a decent following can upload rare, epic, and legendary skins to Mobile Minigames.
All of these skins will apply buffs to the heroes they are equipped to.
Some of the buffs are the following:
- +5% Power
- 10% Attack
- 10% Armor
- 10% Health
The best thing you can do is collect skins with these buffs. The skin can be either a rare skin, an epic skin, or a legendary skin. The rarity of the skin itself really does not matter, since every rarity will have one of these four buffs and the values are the same.
You can easily buy skins off of the Auction House for only 5 Crypton each.
This is extremely easy and affordable for pretty much every player. Once you have chosen a streamer or content creator that you want to include in your main lineup, collect their rare, epic, or legendary skins.
This way you can provide buffs to your heroes through Streamer Talents as well as through streamer skins, which is hugely important.
For more info on maximizing the power of your heroes through Streamer Talents, check out the Advanced Combat Guide.
By doing this, you can give each of your heroes an additional 5% power, 10% attack, 10% armor, or 10% health.
Additionally, you can increase the bonus that skin buffs provide by collecting more skins and completing the skin points achievement.
The more skins you collect, the higher your skin buff percentage will go. While the buffs are very small initially, after collecting thousands of skins you can get your skin buff percentage up into the hundreds.
To get more skins, you can do the following:
- Purchase streamer skins off of the cheapest skins section in the Auction House
- Collect free skins from various Twitch streamers and YouTube/Facebook content creators (take a look at the Gaming for Good skins page for a list of streamers and content creators that offer free skins)
As you purchase more skins off of the Auction House as well as collect them for free through various means, you will be increasing your skin buff percentage, therefore improving your combat potential.
So, to maximize the impact of skins in combat, you should do the following:
- Find the streamer or content creator that you have selected in the first section of your Streamer Talents (for most, it will be AtheneLive).
- Buy rare/epic/legendary skins from the Auction House (rare skins are cheapest).
- Collect the rare/epic/legendary skins from the streamer or content creator himself/herself (in the case of AtheneLive, following him on Twitch gives you his rare skin for free).
- Enter the Face Swap building.
- Swap the faces of each of your best heroes to the newly acquired skins. As a result, each of your best heroes on your main combat team will have a power boost.
- Gradually collect more streamer skins through the Auction House, as well as for free by following Twitch streamers, subscribing to YouTube content creators, and liking Facebook content creator pages. As you collect more streamer skins, you will be improving the skin buff percentage applied to your heroes in combat.
Try not to forget about skins; these numbers all add up in the long run. Without proper skin buffs applied to your team, you won’t be able to progress nearly as far in combat.
Faction auras and faction counters can help you progress much further if you use them right. Most of the time, you can adjust your team slightly and as a result, progress much further. To start, we’ll take a look at faction auras.
Faction auras are team buffs which are applied based on the faction composition of the team you go into battle with.
For example...
- PogChamp Aura: 6 PogChamp heroes
- Rainbow Aura: 1 hero from each faction
- KappaKappa Aura: 3 Kappa heroes & 3 KappaPride heroes
- Etc...
Each of these faction auras will provide your team with a different buff. The PogChamp aura will provide every hero on your team with an additional 50% power and 150% attack. The Rainbow aura will provide every hero on your team with an additional 75% power, while the KappaKappa aura will provide an additional 150% attack and 150% health.
You can find the full list of faction auras inside of the Wiki Factions page.
These faction auras can have a huge impact on your combat progression. If you choose the right faction aura, you can improve your combat progression like crazy.
What is the best faction aura for making your team stronger?
The best faction aura is likely one of the following:
- PogChamp (+300% attack)
- SMOrc (+300% attack)
- LuL (+300% attack)
- TriHard (+300% attack)
- Kappa (+300% attack)
- KappaPride (+300% attack)
This is simply because it is far more difficult to get ahold of a full team for each faction. Since you are usually gradually getting heroes from every faction while playing the game, having a strong full team of each faction type takes time.
Until you are able to get a strong full team for each faction, likely the next best faction aura for improving your team power is the Rainbow aura.
The Rainbow aura is extremely simple to get and provides a 220% attack and 80% health bonus to your overall team strength.
Additionally, since you will have one hero from each faction with the Rainbow aura, you will only have one hero countered at the time in each stage of the Campaign.
Oftentimes, you might get stuck in the Campaign because your team is easily countered by the enemy teams. For example, a team of PogChamp heroes will do 300% additional damage against a team of SMOrc heroes.
As a result, you should form your team and faction compositions around countering the enemy teams, and ensuring your team is not countered.
When facing a SMOrc team in the Campaign for instance, make sure your team doesn’t have too many LuL heroes, and try to find a faction aura that allows you to use more PogChamp heroes.
Additionally, it’s important to be aware that in some cases, the smart button will not give you the best team possible. A team with an Athene aura with higher base power will be much weaker than another team with a Rainbow aura with lower base power.
To summarize, you should do the following:
- Never use the Athene aura, and ensure you fix your team composition if the smart button gives you the Athene aura.
- Work towards a full team of each faction type (for extra faction counter damage in the Campaign).
- Utilize the Rainbow aura until you manage to get good teams for each aura type.
By paying attention to your auras, and swapping and testing different auras against different teams, you will be giving yourself a much better chance of progressing far in the Campaign and Arena.
SMOrc Pets have a bunch of abilities that help buff your heroes. More specifically, SMOrc pet passive abilities can buff the power, attack, armor, and the health of your heroes.
This works through the following abilities:
These abilities will all buff your heroes in one specific stat or another.
Out of all of these abilities, the best ones are likely ones that improve power and attack. The reason for this is because power and attack have the largest impact on your combat progression.
With more attack and power, you will have an easier time progressing when you are stuck.
This narrows down our selection to four main passive abilities:
Once you choose your top three abilities from this selection, you should swap them onto your best SMOrc pet.
While these combat buffs may not seem significant, in the long run they really add up and will improve your combat progression by a great deal.
Therefore, to maximize your hero buffs from SMOrc passive abilities, you should do the following:
- Collect 50 pets per day, 50 eggs per day from their hatcheries, hatch the eggs regularly, and upgrade your pets in the Upgrade building.
- Choose your best SMOrc pet, and equip the best combat passive abilities (in this case we can choose Horn of War, Hardiness, and Ancestor’s Might).
- Switch your active SMOrc pet in the Achievements building to the new combat SMOrc pet.
- Wait for the weekly reset.
After doing the following, you will have a SMOrc pet active which will increase the stats of your heroes in combat. As a result, you will have an easier time reaching higher stages in the various combat related buildings of Mobile Minigames.
There are also a variety of achievements that will grant your heroes additional combat related buffs.
They can be broken down into three different achievement categories:
- Fighting achievements
- Streamer achievements
- Loot card achievements
In each of these categories, there are achievements which will grant your heroes additional buffs in combat. Some achievements will grant power increases, some will give additional attack, while others will give armor and health.
Due to how many achievements there are, it’s important that you are trying your best to collect as many of these achievements as possible to maximize combat buffs.
To start, we’ll take a look at fighting achievements.
Here are some achievements that you will collect as you fight throughout the Campaign, Idle Boss, Arena and Attack Streamer:
As you can tell, they will all provide your heroes with additional buffs. While the increases move in very small increments, in the long run, they all add up and provide your heroes with significant improvements.
To maximize your fighting achievements, you should do the following:
- Never skip to boss in the Campaign.
- Always use x50 bulk attack.
By constantly utilizing bulk attack and never skipping to boss in the Campaign, you will increase your ability to collect fighting achievements by a huge margin.
For more info on the best ways to progress through the Campaign, take a look at the Campaign Guide.
While it may cost you more Gems in the short run, achievements are always valuable, no matter if they provide combat buffs or not. Besides, the Gems spent on bulk attack that are not actually used will be refunded to you at the end of battle.
Now, take a look at the following streamer achievements:
These achievements are fairly difficult to collect in general, but they will still provide your heroes with additional buffs which can be a huge help.
To maximize your streamer achievements, you should do the following:
- Follow as many Twitch streamers as possible to collect a variety of unique skins from Twitch streamers.
- Subscribe to as many YouTube channels as possible to collect a variety of unique skins from YouTube content creators.
- Like as many Facebook pages as possible to collect a variety of unique skins from Facebook content creators.
- Collect as many heroes as possible through summoning and any other methods.
By collecting a variety of different skins from unique streamers and content creators, while still summoning and collecting heroes through any other means, you’ll be maximizing your number of streamer achievements.
The majority of your collected heroes will come from summoning. So, your best bet would be to do mass TriHard and Kappa summons while working towards completing the Upgrade Event and Summon Event.
Take a look at the Weekly Events Guide for more on completing these events.
Additionally, if you have a lot of free time, you can grind out some follows/subscriptions/likes on as many streamers and content creators as possible. As a result of doing this, you’ll slowly increase the power of your streamers.
Now, take a look at the following loot card achievements:
The more used loot cards you own, the more of these achievements you will collect as a result.
Loot cards are a huge deal. Not only do their achievements provide significant combat buffs, but they can give you a ton of in-game loot, discounts, and potentially even real world goods.
To collect loot card achievements, you should do the following:
- Subscribe to AtheneLive on Twitch for a rare Giving Works loot card.
- Subscribe to AtheneLive on Twitch with a tier 3 subscription to get an epic loot card.
- Buy loot cards off of the Auction House.
Unfortunately, loot cards are usually locked off behind very difficult tasks or pay walls.
However, if you are interested in spending money in Mobile Minigames, subscribing to AtheneLive gives you some of the best value for your money.
Not only do you get a rare loot card each month which gives you 1M Gems, you also get the Community Card, and all the subscription money goes to Save the Children (charity organization).
Take a look at the Pay-To-Play Guide for more info on the best Mobile Minigames purchases.
If this isn’t something you’re willing to do, you can always purchase used loot cards off of the Auction House by spending Crypton.
Take a look at the Auction House Guide for more info on how the Auction House works.
Although difficult, you can in fact earn Crypton without spending money.
For more info on earning Crypton without spending money, check out the Passive Crypton Guide.
It’s important to keep in mind all of these achievements that help improve your heroes by buffing them with additional power, attack, armor and health.
While some achievements may be difficult to collect, make sure you are doing your best to collect whatever achievements you can. These buffs will help you progress further in every combat related area of the game.
