The Gem Event is a Weekly Event you can complete by spending Gems. For any Gems spent in Clash of Streamers, you'll be constantly progressing through the Gem Event and earning rewards from the event.
Due to how frequently you'll acquire and spend Gems, the Gem Event is easily one of the most important, if not the most important Weekly Event out of them all.
In this guide you'll learn all about the different Gem Event requirements, different strategies, as well as some of the best ways you can spend Gems to complete the event itself.
Before reading the guide, it's important that you first read and understand the Weekly Events Beginner's Guide. This guide will give you all of the most basic and essential tips you need to know before you look to start completing Weekly Events.
With that out of the way, let's dive into the Gem Event guide!
Knowing the requirements for the different Gem Event rarities can be a huge help in determining ahead of time whether or not you can complete the event.
Whenever you are approaching a Gem Event that you think you might be able to complete, make sure to refer back to these requirements so you can plan accordingly!
Which Gem Event rarities should you aim to complete?
The best Gem Event rarities you should aim to complete are the following:
- Rare Gem Event
- Epic Gem Event
It is completely feasible to complete these Gem Event rarities on a regular basis - even as a free-to-play player! Every time the rare Gem Event rolls around, you should easily have enough Gems to complete it.
Right after completing the rare Gem Event, you should lock the epic Gem Event and complete it over the course of several weeks.
Locking the Gem Event is one of the best possible things you can do with your free Weekly Event lock. Since every player spends Gems all the time, ensuring that those Gems are going towards the Gem Event is a huge bonus.
By locking the epic Gem Event right after completing the rare Gem Event, you will get a ton of extra loot from the 10% Gem price reduction buff of the rare Gem Event. Not only that, but you will also allow yourself to complete a higher rarity event without actually having the requirements to complete the epic Gem Event.
This is one of the best possible ways you can tackle the Gem Event as a free-to-play player!
Now that we've looked at the different Gem Event rarities that you should aim to complete, let's take a look at the best ways to complete them! How exactly should you spend your Gems to complete the Gem Event?
The Treasure Event is a special Weekly Event which occurs in every Weekly Event rotation.
When the Treasure Event is active, it can be a great idea to spend Gems to complete the Treasure Event in order to complete the weekly Gem Event!
However, you should only spend your Gems on Treasure Event purchases when you have enough Gems to complete the entire Treasure Event and not only a small portion - the bonus 10 Legendary Stars adds up to a lot in the long run!
If you have enough Gems to buy all the treasure chests in the Treasure Event, then spending Gems on the Treasure Event is one of the best ways to complete the Gem Event.
Since the rare Gem Event takes 46M Gems to complete, it makes the rare Gem Event the perfect candidate for spending Gems on the Treasure Event to complete the Gem Event!
If you are working on completing anything beyond the rare Gem Event, in addition to the Treasure Event, your best bet is to follow Marketplace purchases or Campaign battles - both of which are outlined in the next couple of sections!
Marketplace purchases are likely the single best way to spend your Gems in Clash of Streamers. This is even more true when working on completing a Gem Event!
This is due to the fact that every purchase in the Marketplace is offered at around a 5% better price than the default loot price (see the Marketplace Guide for more info).
Due to how good Marketplace purchases are during the Gem Event, they should be your primary way of spending Gems.
The best way to approach Marketplace purchases during the Gem Event is to do the following:
- Purchase everything in the Marketplace - both discounted and undiscounted.
- Use all your free refreshes every 8 hours, and purchase as much Marketplace loot as you can.
- BONUS: If you have no other way to complete the Gem Event and don't have any free refreshes left in the Marketplace, spend Gems to refresh and continue to purchase all Marketplace loot.
This is likely the best way to approach the Marketplace during the Gem Event. Purchase everything you can, whenever you can, and refresh the Marketplace for Gems once you have no other options to complete the Gem Event with.
Although refreshing the Marketplace for Gems might seem counter intuitive, it's a very good way to rack up on a ton of resources. This becomes very useful later on when you actually need these resources to complete other Weekly Events.
Not only that, but you are also improving your chance to get free rebuys in the Marketplace. This is extremely important because it allows you to get even more resources from the Marketplace for free.
For all of these reasons, the Marketplace should be your go-to way of spending Gems to complete the Gem Event!
Battling in the Campaign can be another great way to get rid of your Gems during the Gem Event. While it's usually not as great as Marketplace purchases, it can definitely be a very good idea under certain circumstances.
For the most part, you'll want to progress through the Campaign only by using your free daily battles. However, during a Gem Event, you have a great opportunity to progress extremely far by spending Gems to bulk attack.
If you aren't familiar with what a bulk attack is, take a look at the Campaign Climbing Guide to learn more about how the Campaign works as well as the best ways to progress through it.
However, progressing through the Campaign isn't always the best option for completing the Gem Event. In some cases, it's definitely not a good idea at all!
You should only spend Gems to progress through the Campaign if you satisfy some of the following conditions:
- You have not yet progressed very far in the Campaign.
- You are not stuck in the Campaign
- You are also working on collecting seasonal currencies for a seasonal event.
If you've satisfied some of the above conditions, spending Gems to progress through the Campaign using a 50x bulk attack can be a great idea. You will lose some Gems from your battles, but you will gain a ton of extra rewards as a result.
On top of that, you'll also start receiving much better daily rewards from the Campaign.
The best time to progress through the Campaign is during a seasonal event.
During a seasonal event, your primary goal is to collect as much of the seasonal currency as possible. The Campaign just so happens to be an extremely good source of seasonal currencies!
If you ever happen to be working on completing a Gem Event and don't have much progress in the Campaign, definitely think about progressing through the Campaign to get some more Gems towards the completion of the Gem Event!
Before you approach the Gem Event, it's important that you do a little bit of setup. If you set things up correctly during the week before the Gem Event, you can end up receiving more loot, while spending fewer Gems in the process.
Here is how you should prepare for the Gem Event:
- During the week before the Gem Event, equip the Gemcutter and Gem Bargain passive abilities on your active LuL pet.
- During the week before the Gem Event, equip the Deal Specialist passive ability on your active PogChamp pet.
Pet abilities are some of the best ways to increase your rewards in Clash of Streamers. If you use them wisely, you can earn a ton of additional progress.
Take a look at the Pet Abilities Guide to learn about how pet passive abilities work as well as how to set an active pet.
The Gemcutter and Gem Bargain abilities will improve your rewards from the Gem Event while reducing the cost to complete the event. With both of these abilities equipped on your active LuL pet, you will have a lot more Gems at the end of the week, improving your chances of completing the epic or legendary Gem Event in the following weeks.
Take a look at the LuL Pet Strategies Guide to learn more about the different LuL pet abilities.
On the other hand, the Deal Specialist ability will improve your chances of getting free rebuys in the Marketplace. Since the Marketplace will likely be the area where you spend the most Gems, having this ability equipped will earn you a lot more free loot.
By default you should already have this ability equipped on a regular basis. However, if you don't, it's more important than ever that you equip it before heading into the Gem Event!
Take a look at the PogChamp Pet Strategies Guide to learn more about the different PogChamp pet abilities.
If you setup your LuL pet and PogChamp pet with the abilities mentioned above, you will be far ahead of most other players and will be earning a ton of additional loot from the Gem Event.
Now that we've gone through each component of the Gem Event, it's time to put it all together into one concise strategy.
The full Gem Event strategy is as follows:
- Look at the requirements charts above to see whether you have enough Gems to complete the entire upcoming Gem Event.
- The week before the rare Gem Event approaches, equip the Gemcutter and Gem Bargain passive abilities on your active LuL pet, and equip the Deal Specialist passive ability on your active PogChamp pet.
- When the rare Gem Event is active, purchase everything discounted and undiscounted in the Marketplace.
- If you have not progressed very far in the Campaign, gradually progress through it by spending Gems to bulk attack.
- When nearing the end of the rare Gem Event, start spending Gems to refresh and get more loot from the Marketplace.
- Once you have completed the rare Gem Event and have waited for the weekly reset, lock the upcoming epic Gem Event.
- Gradually complete the epic Gem Event over the course of the next couple of weeks (using Marketplace purchases, Campaign battles, and Treasure Event purchases if available).
This is likely one of the best ways to approach completing the rare Gem Event, followed by the epic Gem Event. You simply collect your Gems throughout play, equip the proper pet abilities beforehand, complete the rare Gem Event, and then lock the epic Gem Event and complete it over the course of several weeks.
This strategy is completely feasible for free-to-play players. If you find yourself struggling to save enough Gems to pull this off, you need to make sure that you aren't spending Gems where you shouldn't be!
Check out the Resource Management Guide for tips on how you should spend your Gems.
No matter what, it's important that you complete the entire Gem Event and not just one portion of it. The best rewards come from the actual full Weekly Event completion (event artifact and account buff).
Whenever you are getting close to the next Gem Event, refer back to this guide and prepare yourself to complete it in the most optimal way!
