Kappa pets are the group of pets that belong to the Kappa faction in Mobile Minigames. Overall, they offer a wide range of unique abilities; both for auto-skill and passive abilities.
The unique Kappa pet passive abilities focus on two primary areas:
- Additional Gems from various areas
- Free summons
In this guide we will go over the various Kappa pet auto-skill abilities and passive abilities, analyze the potential effectiveness of each, and determine the combination of abilities which might have the best impact on your overall account progression.
Kappa pets have a total of 7 auto-skill (combat) abilities.
They are the following:
Before unlocking the ability to use one of these auto-skills, you must first have an active Kappa pet guardian. This only happens once you have captured the Kappa hatchery, and have unlocked the Kappa section in Streamer Talents by collecting 100K default faces.
For more information on how to setup auto-skill abilities and apply them to certain heroes, take a look at the Pet Abilities Guide.
In the sections that follow, the some of the best abilities and strategies for these auto-skills will be discussed.
Abilities like this which provide unconditional buffs are extremely effective for many reasons.
They are useful in the following scenarios:
- You have a team which doesn’t synergize well with each other. This means all 6 heroes have abilities that only work well with themselves, and not with any other team members.
- You have a hero which is already extremely powerful (DUBI empowerment, Streamer Talents speccing, unconditional buff abilities, high level, stars, etc) and want to make it more powerful.
In these scenarios, improving a hero with an unconditional buff ability like Hymn of Might would be a great idea.
One of the best classes for this type of ability would likely be the Rogue class.
Rogues already have the highest attack by default, so equipping a Rogue with more attack will make it extremely deadly.
This is another ability which will grant a hero a ton of attack damage in battle.
The best way to take advantage of this ability is to do the following:
- Have heroes on your team with the Cheat Death/Rebirth ability.
- Equip a Kappa pet guardian with the Consume Soul ability.
- Equip a hero with the skin needed to use the Kappa pet guardian ability.
Having allies with the Cheat Death/Rebirth ability will allow the 15% attack bonus to continue to stack even after allies have already died.
With two heroes in the front-line with the Cheat Death or Rebirth ability, you can quickly grant a hero an additional 60% attack in battle through the Consume Soul ability.
This attack bonus is extremely significant, which is what makes this strategy likely much better than the unconditional buff strategy. It's a true late-game strategy for when you have unlocked each pet guardian and have every ability slot unlocked on each of your heroes.
Which hero class would the Consume Soul ability work best with?
This ability is best paired with the highest damage dealing hero on your team. In many cases (especially early-game), this would likely be a Mage. However, the best use overall would likely be for a Rogue or Priest.
Rogues have the highest attack overall, and Priests have the best area-of-effect damage ability in the game: Light Implosion. If you have a Rogue which deals a ton of damage with the help of an event artifact, or a very good Priest with the Light Implosion ability, then Consume Soul would work wonders.
Whichever class you choose, the most important part is having heroes with the Cheat Death/Rebirth ability to help your hero stack up a ton of additional attack.
Combining the Cheat Death/Rebirth ability with Consume Soul is one of the most overpowered ability combinations in the game!
Kappa pets have a total of 9 unique passive abilities.
They are the following:
In the sections below, the two primary strategies with these unique passive abilities will be discussed.
With this Gem earning strategy, there are clear passive abilities which are much better than others in terms of granting you a ton of extra loot.
These are the worst Gem earning Kappa pet passive abilities:
These abilities aren't very good for a few different reasons.
Why is the Better Deals ability bad?
There are several reasons for this:
- It is unlikely that you will be making enough in-game purchases that you will actually be getting a lot of value from this ability.
- The Gem purchases in-game are much worse value than the purchases on the Gaming for Good shop.
You simply should not be purchasing the in-game Gem packages very often to the point where the ability would be useful. In fact, you should not be purchasing any in-game Gem packages AT ALL.
You will always get much better value for your money using the Gaming for Good shop, and the Better Deals ability will NOT change that.
Roughly $3, $30, and $75 purchases. PRPS & DUBI prices will likely be different by the time you are seeing this.
See the Pay-to-Play Guide for more on the best purchases.
Overall, this ability is extremely poor because even if you got extra Gems from these purchases, you should not be making these in-game purchases for Gems to begin with!
Why is the Indulgence ability bad?
This ability is actually not as bad as the Better Deals ability. The main reason it's bad is simply because it's outclassed by some of the other Gem earning abilities.
The best abilities for the Gem earning strategy are the following:
The primary part of this strategy comes down to the Gems earned by watching daily ads. Since the Gems from Watch Ads are sent through your Mailbox you have two abilities which will contribute greatly to the Gems earned.
On top of that, the Special Delivery ability will increase the Gem rewards you get for completing Weekly Events.
Take a look at the Weekly Events Guide for tips on completing Weekly Events.
Since Weekly Events are such a crucial part of Mobile Minigames, and since you should be completing them regularly, you'll likely gain a ton of value from this ability.
Despite the Weekly Event loot bonuses, earning Gems from ads is one of the most significant daily activities in terms of your daily loot gained.
Watch Ads will give you several hundred thousand Gems per day. If you have a 9-star Kappa pet with the Special Delivery and Adblock Plus, you will earn significantly more Gems on a regular basis.
Additionally, expeditions are a huge source of your weekly loot.
If the loot output of an expedition is increased (through the Mark of the Explorer ability), you will be increasing the loot potential of the chests.
Since chests are the providers for some of the best loot in Mobile Minigames, improving chests is a huge deal!
Additionally, this ability can be combined with other chest improving abilities with PogChamp Pets (see PogChamp Strategies).
Overall, some of these passive abilities should be your standard Kappa pet abilities.
You will earn a lot more Gems by having these abilities enabled at all times, which will impact your account progression greatly over time.
You should only use different abilities under the following circumstances:
- When you are looking to generate a lot of passive Crypton and need the Pet Crypto Hodler and Streamer Crypto Hodler abilities (see the Passive Crypton Guide).
- When you have a lot of free daily summons or plan on doing a lot of summoning, you should follow the free summon strategy below.
In most cases, you’ll probably want to use the Mark of Kappa ability as a standard Kappa pet ability due to the daily Kappa summon. Take a look at the strategy below for more info on when you should enable the different summon abilities.
The free summon strategy works through the following abilities:
Summoning streamers is one of the core elements of Mobile Minigames! Ensuring you have a good team should be one of your biggest, if not the biggest priority when playing.
This is why these abilities are so effective! You will increase the number of heroes you receive by dramatic proportions if you have a good enough pet.
For the most part, with the exception of the Mark of Kappa ability, you’ll only want to have these abilities enabled on your Kappa pet when you plan on doing a lot of summoning.
Every 8 hours you earn a free TriHard summon, and every 24 hours you receive a free Kappa summon. Essentially, you get 3 free TriHard summons and 1 free Kappa summon each day.
It is definitely worth it to keep the Mark of Kappa ability enabled at all times due to the value of a Kappa Scroll. However, it’s likely not worth it to keep the Mark of TriHard and Mark of PogChamp abilities enabled regularly.
You should only enable the Mark of TriHard ability under the following circumstances:
- If you have an additional 9 free daily TriHard summons from VIP 2, keep the ability enabled at all times.
- If you plan on doing a lot of TriHard summons for the Upgrade Event, enable the ability temporarily.
You should only enable the Mark of PogChamp ability under the following circumstances:
- If you have a free daily PogChamp summon, keep the ability enabled at all times.
- If you have a lot of PogChamp Orbs and plan on doing a lot of PogChamp summons, enable the ability temporarily.
If you ever align with any of these circumstances, make sure you enable the abilities for the specified time periods.
Having a ton of free daily summons will almost always warrant keeping the abilities enabled at all times!
The Upgrade Event is one of the easiest yet most significant Weekly Events to complete. Because of this, it's a great idea to optimize the loot you can receive through the event.
Take a look at the following abilities:
These abilities are great when looking to improve your loot from the Upgrade Event. You will get improved loot from both the individual upgrades, as well as the event milestones themselves.
In addition to these abilities, you should equip the Upgrade Event improvement abilities from LuL pets (seen in LuL Pet Strategies).
LuL pets feature abilities that make it easier to complete the Upgrade Event, increase the rewards at each event milestones, and also increase the Gem rewards for each individual upgrade.
As a result of all of these abilities equipped on your active pets, you'll see the following benefits:
- Tons of extra Gems from each individual upgrade (from both Upgrade Booster abilities)
- Reduced cost to complete the Upgrade Event (from the Upgrade Bargain ability)
- Improved loot from each Upgrade Event milestone (from the Special Delivery & Upgrade Expert abilities)
Whenever you have enough heroes to complete an Upgrade Event, make sure you equip these abilities beforehand!
Take a look at the Weekly Events Guide for tips on completing the Upgrade Event.
